Nabi, Technical Team Have Amakhosi Management’s Support

Kaizer Chiefs’ club executives are backing coach Nasreddine Nabi and his technical team to the hilt.

Since being appointed manager of Amakhosi last July, Nabi – along with his team, which includes Khalil Ben Youssef, Cedric Kaze, Ilyes Mzoughi and Majdi Safi – has been criticised for doing little to improve the club’s overall performance.

To date, in the 28 matches played across all competitions under Nabi’s leadership, Chiefs have recorded 10 wins, five draws and 13 losses. As a result, they occupy eighth place in the Premier Soccer League rankings with 29 points.

In a recent interview with a local soccer outlet, Jessica Motaung, the club’s marketing and commercial director, shared her thoughts about the 59-year-old Tunisian tactician and his coaching crew.

“I really don’t want to get into that right now,” she said. “All I can say is we have a technical team and a coach; they have the support to do the work, and then it’s for them to do the work.”

Motaung continued: “We didn’t go into this expecting quick results, but certainly, lessons are being learned, and the necessary analysis is being done.”

She also urged despondent Amakhosi fans to maintain a positive outlook: “I encourage our supporters to stand by the team as we push towards the end of the season. There is a need for more consistency, and there’s work happening behind the scenes to ensure we achieve that.”
